After 30 years in UK Food Retail, Transport and Distribution management roles, Stephen (Dad to the current owners Jack & Ben) began to research the cost and availability of couriers to the Mornington Peninsula. Based on his findings, Stephen established the Octagon business to service the stunningly beautiful Mornington Peninsula and surrounding areas.

In 2019, following many years of establishing a now thriving business, Stephen’s Son Jack, took over the business allowing his Dad to concentrate on quotations and some fishing!

Stephen’s youngest son Ben (Jack’s Brother) is currently learning the business with Jack after finishing his education in 2019. Although it should be noted that Ben was with Stephen for the first Octagon delivery back in 2010 at the age of eight!

Jack has been involved with the Octagon ‘way of life’ since he was 15 years old. Jack completed a Diploma in Sports with SEDA, however, at 18 years old, the pull to work for the family business was greater and his passion and commitment are evident today achieving the Octagon Company Director at only 23 years of age.

Octagon looks quite different 15 years on.  In 2010, ‘Octagon’ started as a one-man van courier business from a small office in the then family home.   Today, Octagon has 15 employees having recently employed an Administration Manager due to increase in enquiries and planning required.

Octagon prides itself on employing young, local people and providing them with the opportunity to grow with the business. Octagon supports their training needs both in vehicle licences and daily ‘on the job training’. The training and commitment to their development & growth in the business, ensure that when working, Octagon employees are always striving to provide a ‘World Class Service’

Octagon currently has a storage facility in Mornington with multiple removalist and courier vehicles servicing the Mornington Peninsula and Victoria daily.

In late 2020, Octagon acquired Southern Removals and Storage and ‘Mornington Peninsula Removals and Storage’, and now is fully integrated into the ‘Octagon Family’.

Octagon currently has several streams to their business.  A Document Shredding Service, Packing Service, Courier Service, Storage Facilities, Relocation Service, ‘Full Packing Supplies Shop’, Wine Tours, Airport Transfers and Mobile Storage with Octibox.

Octagon has strong partnerships with Real Estate Agents and a strong repeat client base.  Providing numerous referrals to Octagon with over 420 positive google reviews (at time of writing this), they can be assured that their work is well covered.

Whether a single home item purchased from a local furniture provider or a full home contents pack, relocate, store and redelivery, Octagon will ensure a quality service. Put simply if you need it moved ‘Octagon will arrange to move it’. 

The Octagon team feel very passionate about their local community and their customers and Octagon also have strived to be involved in the ‘Community Spirit’. Giving back to the Community, Octagon supports local organisations including Mt Martha Soccer Club and Safety Beach Coast Guard.
